The management of Ogiek Peoples’ Development Program (OPDP) organized a three day team building session for its staff as a way of motivating them to continue committing their time and energy in empowering Ogiek community.
It was held in Naivasha between 1st and 3rd December,2017 with the attendance of OPDP’s Executive Mr Director Daniel Kobei, Mr John Samorai(Programs Officer),Ms Eunice Chepkemoi(Gender Officer),Ms Eunice Ndung'u(Finance and Administration Officer),Ms Moraa Obiria(Communications and Media Officer) and Mr Joseph Sang’(Research and Fundraising Officer).
The staff participated in various activities bolstering their collegiality including review of their work and engaging in energy sapping games.
As a broad objective of enhancing institutional capacity, OPDP has over the years strove to strengthen its human capital and better the work environment for its staff.
In this regard, OPDP’s management has continuously availed opportunities building skills and capacities of its workforce and boosting their morale.
As a result of motivated staff, OPDP has made tremendous achievements in its work including a successful litigation process leading to the win of a human rights case at the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights; fruitful rehabilitation of Logoman Forest and livelihood projects for women and youth such as sheep rearing, bee keeping and beadwork.
