Ogiek Peoples’ Development Program(OPDP) together with Tiritagoi Primary School seeks to raise Sh 1.2 million for construction of a block of three concrete latrines benefiting 300 girls under the ‘Give Girls Sanitation Project.’

Tiritagoi is situated in Nessuit ward, Njoro sub-county in Nakuru County.

The facilities will be furnished with the handwashing equipment, shower, pads disposal outlet and proper drainage and sewage system.

However, we equally intend to build similar facilities with appropriate accessories for the 280 boys enrolled in the school and the 12 teachers. This nevertheless depends on the availability of resources. That is why your support in this cause is ideally crucial.

In this school, two out of the six latrines available for girls are without doors. Two have doors with functioning hinges but lack locks. In the rest two, the hinges have loosened and they also have no locks.

Further there are gaping spaces between the timber panels that someone from the outside can easily peep through. These dysfunctionalities of the existing latrines take away the privacy of the child using the facility.Notably, the current status of the latrines is a health hazard to the learners.
